Annotation: 2009 reprint of 1960 edition. Hungarian by birth, Nicolas Darvas trained as an economist at the University of Budapest. Reluctant to remain in Hungary until either the Nazis or the Soviets took over, he fled at the age of 23 with a forged exit visa and fifty pounds sterling to stave off hunger in Istanbul, Turkey. During his off hours as a dancer, he read some 200 books on the market and the great speculators, spending as much as eight hours a day studying.Darvas ploughed his money

Question by randyb999: What is the difference between chicken stock and chicken bullion?
I am cooking, and the recipe calls for 6 cups chicken stock. All I have are the little chicken bullion cubes. Are they the same, or at least interchangable?

Answer by littletimmy007
as you can tell chicken stock is the water with the “cubes premixed” so to say it is much better then the cubes but cheaper i don’t see why you could not dissolve some cubes in the 6 cups of water

Question by Derk: How to make chicken soup with out broth or bullion cubes?
Hi,

I am going to try to make chicken soup by just boiling a chicken in water for a few hours. I know the recipe already, but was wondering if other make chicken soup with out using canned broth or cubed bullion and if they had good results. I do not want my chicken soup to come out too bland.

What has been your experience making your own stock.

just make sure you add enough spices and herbs… that’s the only way to make a good broth. also you could add an onion, carrot and celery to the water while you are boiling the chicken.. that will make it even better.

Answer by regerugged
Last trade is the market value of a stock at the end of the day.
Volume is the number of shares of stock sold.
$ change means the stock went from .75 at the beginning of the trading day and went up twelve cents in value that day. % change is .12 divided by 27.75 or .00432 divided by 100% equals .43 per cent increase in value on the day.
