Why the American Golden Eagle Gold Coin is Timeless

I have been collecting coins all of my life.? I have admired all of the different designs over the years and enjoyed the appreciation of my coin investments.? In the last 10 years the U.S. Mint has really created unique coins.? The fifty state quarters are some of the greatest designs and have only gotten better with the release of the latest batch for 2009.? American Samoa is the best quarter in my opinion.? The Mint has also released a wonderful set of 5 pennies this year as well.?? They are all well designed and very unique.? While all of these are wonderfully designed and unique coins, none of them compare to the American Golden Eagle coin.

Augustus Saint-Gauden is one of the greatest coin designers.? The obverse depiction of lady liberty really represents the great things about America.? The olive branch in her left hand represents the peaceful nature of our country.? The Torch in her right hand represents the light we lead the world with and her flowing hair show our constant yearning to keep exploring.? The reverse of the Golden Eagle was sculpted by Miley Busiek, and shows a bald eagle flying into its nest, representing the absolute freedom we enjoy as Americans.? Finally, the coin is made out of gold, representing our great wealth as a nation.

Although the newer coins are much more diverse in their depictions, no other coin compares in my opinion to the greatness emanating from the American Golden Eagle.? That is probably why it is one of the most sought after gold investment coins.?
